Set in a very private, lushly landscaped garden setting on the tidal Bolinas Lagoon, considered one of Marin County’s most significant natural resources. Walls of glass give a framed view of the water and wildlife on the lagoon, stretching to the hills beyond. Four bedrooms and three baths provide accommodations for up to 9 guests. The living room, dining room and kitchen are in the central core of the house with high ceilings, a gas log fireplace, concrete floors and a granite table that seats 10. A multi-level deck with a hot tub off the living room and a deck at the entry furnished for outdoor dining and overlooks the garden.
Diverse habitats of open water, mudflats, and marsh support marine fishes, amphibians, birds and mammals that creates an extremely productive ecosystem. Birders will delight in discovering the 470 bird species that have been noted at the Bolinas Lagoon. As the tide ebbs and flows, the appearance of the shoreline changes greatly with tide flats exposed at low tide. Egrets, herons, hawks, osprey, and waterfowl boast fresh breeding plumage all year round! Playful harbor seals often frolic right beyond the large backyard, stopping to observe guests!
We aim to create an experience for our guests to retreat from the chaos of everyday life by providing an array of activities such as hiking, bird watching, and kayaking. The Seadrift lagoon is a great place to have a peaceful swim with views of Mt Tamalpais and the private tennis and pickleball courts are just steps away.

Well-mannered house-trained dogs are welcome at this property. Please adhere to leash laws anytime your dog is outside the home.

  Great views of outer lagoon and mountains from family room, kitchen and two bedrooms. Dog friendly. Close to beach and tennis/pickle ball courts. Lots of natural light. Spacious. Could benefit from some curtains in lagoon side bedrooms for privacy (if someone is in the backyard) and to block light in the morning.

  The view and house was absolutely beautiful, but there were no curtains on multiple rooms which caused us to not sleep well. Additionally, the kitchen wasn't very well stocked with mugs and a few other things for the amount of people the house can accommodate. Otherwise really loved the view and location.

  The home is absolutely spectacular and located in a spectacular setting, especially if you like wildlife viewing. It would be better if some repairs were done to the lighting in the home. For example, several under-cabinet and over-the-stove lights are out in the kitchen, and need repair. Also, there is a lamp in the living room which doesn't work, and a bulb out in the lamp in the dining room. Additionally, several of the main room lights in the rafters were out during our stay. I think property management should check and repair all lights prior to anyone coming in to rent.
  We enjoyed bird and seal-watching, walking on the beach, and we usually LOVE canoeing on Bolinas estuary -- didn't get to that this time.

  We had a great time staying at 311 Seadrift. We were celebrating my 70th birthday. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and had all we needed. We could not figure out the gas fireplace, though, which we would have loved to use when is was rainy outside. We also had to light the burners on the stove top every time we used it, which was a bit dangerous. The property management was very helpful when we had trouble with the TV. The cable company was not much help. Everything else was wonderful, though. Looking out at the lagoon was magical and the hot tub was relaxing. We enjoyed the beach and a hike on Mt. Tamalpais.

  We started renting this home in 2006, and only missed a year because of the pandemic. Grandchildren have grown from spending hours catching crabs in the to boogie boarding and paddle boarding. One of the few homes that accept dogs and our family dogs love the beach! Always fun to see improvements and changes that have been made over the year. And then it doe feel like “our home” for the week.

  Great location and beautiful views from this house which is right on the Bolinas Lagoon. Front garden was substantially less lush and less picturesque than photos online due to the drought, but warm and sunny deck by front door. Also no gazebo which seems to have been removed. House was generally clean, but the windows were dirty. House was comfortable but seemed "kind of tired" - could use some TLC. The one bamboo blind in the master bedroom is clearly broken and does not work effectively. There aren't any curtains or window coverings in the two front rooms, which would be good to have for those who might want to sleep beyond 615am, as sun comes up 6am so this is something that should be noted or remedied. Garbage disposal was broken but we were told it was when we checked in and decided not to have someone come in to fix it during our stay. Kitchen is functional, and well equipped - toaster, coffee maker, microwave, ice-maker, etc etc. We would recommend the property - it's a little tired/funky but casual and comfortable and the location and views can't be beat. We rented Kayaks which was wonderful from Stinson Beach Surf + Kayak (ask for Donnie). Ate at Parkside a couple of times - very good.

  We had a wonderful week at 311. There were, however, MANY things not working (broken table umbrella, cable out for tv, broken toilet seat, etc, etc, etc), but Seadrift Realty was excellent about fixing everything as soon as they could, and all was repaired when we asked.

  We loved our month long stay. Except for one problem. The roads in Seadrift were re-paved. We were told the singage on the roads would be painted the next day, but they were not for about a week. On the second day, I missed one of the speed bumps while out walking. Without paint the difference in height was not delineated. I fell and broke my elbow. I understand others fell that week. It was dangerous for all.

  This was our twelfth year staying at this property. We love the evening bird shows over Bolinas lagoon, the tranquility, space for dogs to run, proximity to inner lagoon for long paddle board runs and the ever changing Bolinas lagoon for wildlife sightings and watercraft exploration. The kitchen is pretty well equipped and we know what to bring to complete it. Seadrift Realty folks are helpful and welcoming. Like most short term rental properties, there tend to be things that don’t work, but they get fixed by the next year. Oh, and I didn’t mention the hot tub on deck overlooking lagoon

  We have now rented this property for one week every summer for over ten years. We are delighted to find a place that will accept the family dogs, who love the beach as much as we do, and the property really feels like our home for that one week. We enjoy seeing improvements (the extended sea wall) and small changes. We love the view of the ever-changing Bolinas Lagoon, the ease of paddle boarding and kayaking on it, and the short walk to the ocean side beach for long walks and boogie boarding. We'll come back as long as we can.

  This was a great alternative to the beach side of Seadrift. The home maximizes the tranquil views of Bolinas Lagoon and it's ever-changing wildlife and tidal flows. Four bedrooms, three baths easily accommodates 8 or 9 people with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Living room is two steps below remainder of house so elderly need to be mindful.
